This means that the old-fashioned paid advertising is on its way out and we’ll start seeing more of the performance marketing taking over.
There are times when brands and companies prioritize exposure and branding over sales and revenues with the marketing budget spending.
Brands and agencies starts to cut budgets for mass media marketing campaigns that don’t bring any direct sales such as placement ads and posters on the train.
What matters to brands now is the power of purchase driven by traffic. Quality traffic brought by influencers that knows who their audience are.
They tell stories that their followers resonate, understand, and shares tips on how to conquer their everyday anxieties and problems in life.
There are different influencers but the ones that can really help the brands to generate sales is the influencers who know how to play the game.
And how do influencers prove they could do that?

This is how affiliate marketing works, and it’s been around for a long time but due to the declining economy especially after covid, this gets more and more attention from brands around the world.
More brands starts to integrate affiliate strategy into their sales and marketing plan. And not just retailers, big companies such as Apple, and Disney are collaborating with publishers and affiliate agencies to generate more sales through commerce content.
What’s Commerce Content?
Commerce content is basically any content that’s created to promote or sell a product or service.
You might see it in the form of product reviews, sponsored posts, or ads. It’s made by companies or content creators who are working with a brand to promote its products.
The introduction of TikTok’s Pulse Premiere Ad Products clearly indicates how commerce content is poised to surpass paid advertising in the future, given the current economic climate.
It is highly probable that commerce content could replace paid advertising in certain cases.
As more and more consumers shift towards online shopping, the demand for informative content that aids them in making informed purchasing decisions is increasing.
Businesses that can create content that informs, entertains, and engages their target audience stand to build a loyal following and drive more sales than they would with traditional advertising.
Nevertheless, paid advertising still has its place, particularly for businesses that are just starting out or endeavoring to boost their visibility rapidly.
